In Zambia where I come from there are two types of legal marriage.
1. The English style which follows the basic rules set down by English law since copied by Zambia
2. Traditional marriage, which follows the traditions of the local people and can allow polygamy.
So in our case "Traditional marriage" is not as "sacred" as you might think.

Um, because those who wanted to get married did so? How many times should each couple get married? I seem to remember hearing that fewer and fewer heterosexuals are getting married ... in most of the United States. Clearly that shows ... hmmm, there must be some way I can interpret this to put forth my own agenda.
