my wife, a cantonese chinese woman, who came on a boat from hong kong to san francisco, a few , many few years ago...recently has returned to the city of her second childhood.
$14.00 for chow mein out side of richmond...pretty far from downtown 'frisco.
about fifteen years ago i was in south san francisco and i walked into a barber shop....i walked out paying $15.00 for a simple men's haircut.
there is a problem here.
san francisco, is the most expensive city west of the rocky mountians.
why is this so ? ..

remedy:
non-subcribers, if i understand the current rules, are limited to three posts a day.
may i suggest, that subsribers ( grampy bobby, sietse, my own various alias', and carrobie, et al, and such ilk, be limited to six posts a day.

What is a true general forum? Wouldn't it be for everything in general? How did it used to be? If it entails talking about the price of Chow Mein in San Francisco I doubt that there'd be a lot of interest in an international general forum.
Regarding postings, I wasn't aware that non-subscribers were limited to 3 postings a day. Are you sure. I'm sure Robbie Carrobie when he wasn't a subscriber was still posting hundreds of posts a day. However I think that limiting non-subscribers postings is a good idea.
