Just to get into my house tonight! Took some rather absurd advice and actually locked my door when I went out tonight. Now I remember why I don't lock my doors. Amazing enough this is the first house I have ever lived in that I couldn't break into. I even climbed a freaking tree trying to get in. Thought for sure the cops would come and arrest me for B&E. They did eventually come but was only dropping off some run away kid from next door. So it was all cool. But $70!
Hey by the way....who here remembers the band Prism? Anybody? Did you know they're still alive? Played tonight at the grand opening of the casino. But wasn't worth the $70! 😠

How it all becomes crystal clear!!
I find a brick usually helps, board it up over night then go to a glass cutter in the morning and pay £10 for a new piece of glass.
Nevermind, you women will NEVER learn!!😀
And if I thought for one second that I could have fit through the basement window I would have smashed it.
But you know us women.
😉

BTW, I locked myself out just the other day, but since it was only the lock on the door and not the deadbolt lock, I simply took out a credit card and wiggled it into the seam where the lock is. All self closing doors have a bevel on the lock and a plastic credit card can be forced in the door seam. It will then push the locking tab out of the jam and pop the door open. Takes about 20 seconds.

Originally posted by arrakisOr give an extra key to some neighbours. Of course you might be unlucky and the neighbours won't be home when you need the key, but it's safer than the key under the door mat.

Luckily my door doesn't have a spring lock, so I can't lock myself out.
