I can't say too much about this specific position as he won the game quickly but no, it is not worth it to swap a piece for 2 Queen side pawns early in the game without a quick return from it. I've seen many players less than 1500 swap a piece this way in one variation of the Sicilian - never works. The side that lost the 2 pawns weathers the (very weak)storm and wins the end game. I've not seen it done in the Ruy Lopez before.
