Forgotten!? She has an element named after her! You might as well say Emmy Noether has been forgotten, or Mary Anne Evans.

Probably not, she wasn't a brilliant Mathematician.
But apparently invented the pie chart.

Good one Suzianne!!
More than just a beauty : Hedy had a prolific memory for complex detail...and can be credited for bringing her husband's war-time technical knowledge to the U.S.

She was also a competent actress. Her films still intrigue me even after 70 years.

Her husband? Her hubby at the time was an actor and nothing but. Her technical achievements were her own.

Indeed, the frequency hopping technology we use on cell phones today, called Spread Spectrum' was first thought of by Hedy.
comes from her inventions that tried to thwart German torpedo's, a signal that changed frequency to stop electromagnetic interference.

In 1997 she received the Electronic Frontier foundation Pioneer award and also in '97 she received the BULBIE Spirit of achievement award, thought of as the oscar for inventors.

On receiving that award she said "About time"!

Instead of supplying just a link why not talk a bit about it as well? Might have gotten more replies.

Her first husband was Fritz Mandl. He was a wealthy Austrian industrialist. He was closely associated with the Italian Fascists. He entertained many top scientists and politicians in his home. Hedy was there.
She listened intently. She was very interested and had natural scientific abilities. She also had an incredible memory.
