Well John you reached 100 draws before me but I've had the honour of breaking through the barrier (thankyou Julia). 101 draws 🙂

That would be an interesting record- the person with the most resignations 😉
I wonder who it would be

If someone wants to resign games then it's entirely up to them. In my opinion it's naive and wrong to think in terms of right and wrong reasons.
If it makes you glad though that you feel you only resign for the 'right' reasons, while mass resignees are "playing havoc with the ratings" and resigning for the 'wrong' reasons (according to who? who says what's right and wrong? Rhymester? RHP? do you even know what the reasons are half the time?) then good for you.
Mark - Ooooh! Shirty 😉 I only meant that the normal reason for resigning a game of chess is because you can see that you are going to lose the game.
I still think that mass resignations DO play havoc with the ratings because when a highly rated player resigns, say 20 games, some players get an unearned boost. The order in which the player decides to resign the games has quite an impact and then you get the strange situation of the player having to come back from a ridiculously low rating.
I'm not saying that there aren't other understandable personal reasons why players resign lots of games just that when they do it has implications.

Many apologies Andrew. Not sure where that little outburst came from. I apologise.
PS. In my original post I was also thinking about the way some people have resigned in games between two of their own nicks in order to manipulate the ratings.
'Bout time you and Bob gave me and Ted chance to nick a few of yer points 🙂
