Probably not quite what you meant to say, but luckily it's true, too.
My point was that if we're going to throw the book at someone this age, let's do it to someone who has acted violently in cold blood, lest it became a dangerous precedent and the jails become filled with kids. Nobody wants that.

So you think that he took an informed and well pondered action as an adult mind. Do you?
There is a reason for the difference between a youth and an adult. Now its not time to take revenge but to bring somebody into an adulthood in which he will preponder his actions and take the full responsability.
A question to be asked yould be: Who did educate ...[text shortened]... e does not contain enough information to make an adult informed decision. Thank you for sharing.

answer - yes
Who did educate that young man anyway?
answer - Society i.e. TV, Video Game producers, School Teachers, Parents, Friends, Radio, News, etc...
And what of their (and I presume them to be adults) responsability?
Answer - Not applicable (see statement)
and do these adults, who legally own the weapons and claim their constitutional right to do so, act up to THEIR responsability?)
Answer - yes (they didn't rob the bank)
Statement - Guns do not kill people. People kill people. Guns are a powerful weapon and if used can be deadly. In this case, thankfully, this dumbass didn't use it; but this doesn't excuse his action/intent. One must take responsibility for ones own action. This fool is old enough to know guns have grave consequences. The only person to blame is himself. Nobody forced this kid to act on his premeditated action. Prison is the solution

I would like to see this kid punished, just not sent to prison.
In the UK and Ireland the law is far to lenient with too many suspended sentences and getting off for good behaviour is almost guarenteed! It's always best to teach people a hard lesson when their young that way when he does get out he'll still have time to get his life together!
