Does anyone own one?

I am thinking of picking up a Henry. Looking for advise before sinking the big bucks.

I have been looking hard for about 6 months now and am getting ready to buy. The old bolt action that came off the farm is worn out.

I've played with the bolt action Ruger 77/17. Great little gun, very effective for plink and small animals out to a maximum of 100 yards. Personally, I'd keep my shots within 75 yards... mainly because I'm sh!t for shooting offhand.

Before you buy though, look at the NEW Mach 2 version. This looks like a superior round. I haven't shot it myself, but its supposed to be just as effective as the original and have a higher terminal velocity. This round is not suppossed to be shootable in a gun chambered for the original round.

I'd really like to find a long barreled pistol chambered in this round. Unfortunately the next purchase has to be something in .223 with the dropping of the AW Ban.

No, not at all. Since it's a single shot weapon, you wouldn't be able to gun down all your schoolmates or co-workers with it.

...or you would have to be very quick at reloading. 😕
