I'm not sure what Carlisle is like, but if it's a really nice place, then one possibility is:

Road to Utopia (1946)

Some other less-likely "road" movies:

....I'm very aware of that show.... It didn't even dawn on me, and I just saw The Passion of Joan of Arc less than two weeks ago.... I suck, jesus...
