"Our House"

Madness
Any Madness video, really.

We didn't get the videos back then, over here. We got the music, and I was a fan. But we never got the... well, madness, of the videos. I've only discovered those the last decade or so on the 'net. And they're great, all of them.

Hard to pick a favourite among them, but if I had to - probably Night Boat to Cairo.

"Our House" is likely the only song, and video, that I know from them. When MTV first started they played that video all the time. Since then, every time I hear that song on the radio it takes me back many years.

(All of the songs I posted in this thread are from the beginning of MTV, and most videos became very popular due to the innovation of that channel)

Mind you, musically, I even prefer their post-return work. The old stuff is all a lot of fun, and quite often ("Embarrassment"!) meaningful, but The Liberty of Norton Folgate is a truly first-class album.

"Electric Avenue"

Eddy Grant

(We gonna rock down to.... Electric Avenue)
😀😀

Not one Cindy Lauper mention?

Phil Collins was great too.

White Wedding by Billy Idol 😊

Cindy Lauper was big, until Madona came along. Then it was, "Cindy WHO?"

Let's not forget Annie Lennox, Stevie Nix, Linda Ronstadt
