i know,
i know,
I KNOW,
i'm a terrible person for raising the issue of ugly sexism when the pictures are obviously meant to entertain and nothing else...
misogyny amongst chess players is palpable in every venue i've visited, and even the editor of this newspaper seems to have fallen into it's siren grasp...
i am sad that we, a culture that knows better, cannot seem to make any but the smallest strides...

"The fact is, however, that Victoria had a life-long love for the royal game. In her youth she played a two-game match (the match of four queens) against Queen Louise of the Belgians (1837). For the first game she sought the advice of two prime ministers, Lords Palmerston and Melbourne. She lost, then dispensed with their help for the second game - which she won."
Classic.
