2013 New Year's Eve Dinner Party

You've acquired the use of a large ballroom with dinner seating for one hundred guests on New Year's Eve (24 days from now); and a cutting edge Time Machine with unlimited capabilities. Specifically, it will enable you to invite anyone from all of human history: chess players, military leaders, statesmen, scientists, musicians, historians, inventors, celebrities, novelists, actors, poets, seekers and clowns (as well as any Red Hot Pawn Members active previously or now). Think of each reply as an Individual 1-2 Person RSVP Invitation with the option of including the reason why you'd be pleased for him, her or them to attend. 1) Russ & Chris: Both enjoy a lively party and an opportunity to join a 2001-13 Global Meet Up on a Grand Scale.

    😲

Seriously, though, the LBD was made for New Year's Eve. It could fit any occasion, from semi-formal through casual.

I like a man who is reasonable. I like a woman in a V-neck black dress...but hey that's just me. I'd invite Drewnogal, Lolof, Suzianne ( I know it's over the "limit" but rules were made to be bent.) . I think that would make for very stimulating conversation.

Thank you GBS, it sure would. And now that I know you will already be there, I will ask ChessPraxis and HandyAndy - they would add to the conversation. I will also invite Agatha Christie to hear more about her writing and inspiration.

They are many other people I hope to see there.

I have this big hatpin I use to pop inflated egos. 🙂

It's easy and so effective, especially with men.

Thanks; what a pleasant surprise. Let's go with your 'new black dress' and request

I thought Bobby mentioned Swedish connections not Italian.

I do forget I live in a more temperate clime, it doesn't get much below 40F here in the winter. Even then, though, I can get by with a sweater or a wrap, although I'd more likely wear a jacket-top that matches. All my LBD's are sleeveless and knee-length, with maybe one or two an inch or two shorter. I don't think any LBD's are longer than that, otherwise I guess they'd be BBD's. 🙂 I like to wear my LBD with pearls, either on the outside or on the inside when there's an open collar. Pearls are great, instant dress-up! 🙂

BVD = Big V-neck Dress? That could work. 😉

    (Big meaning long, of course.)
