I agree totally. Some people only talk about their curses, and forget their blessings. I know some people who repetitively bring up curse after curse as if making a list. No gratitude!

I'm cursed with mosquitos. Answer that one pls??

I am blessed with a good rich life in the heat and sun and beauty of TH...... but when you bend over for a towel after a shower the last thing you want is a blood thirsty mosquito on your ass - surely?? :'(

Curious, to whom should this gratitude be directed?
I'm also curious for an example of a "curse", and a "blessing".

There might be a subtle difference between taking blessings for granted, and recognising that blessings usually are granted. The one is tantamount to counting the teeth of a gift horse, the other reminds me of counting your blessings and naming them one by one.

Might possibly begin by expressing gratitude to your parents, who did

the very best they could with what they had to work with from day one.

Muppy, my thrust was precise... the contrast of basic things that are so different now as compared with, say, 100-125 years ago. We have

a room(s) with a bath. They had a room with a path. They waited weeks and/or months (depending on the season) for mail by train.

We communicate almost simultaneously in real time on the internet. They labored in the fields, with self sufficiency/reliance, to provide

food for their families. We hop in a car or call for pizza delivery. No value judgement and do welcome the progress we take for granted.
