a=b -> a+a=a+b -> 2a=a+b -> 2a-2b=a+b-2b -> 2(a-b)=a-b ->2=1 -> 2+4=1+4 -> 6=5.
And since the equality relation is reflexive you get 5=6!

I would like to take this opportunity and thank you all for your invaluable input. Especially I would like to extend my gratitude to Dr Strangelove whose insights in the matter at hand were of great help to me.

EDIT: Ahhh, spotted it.
2(a-b)=a-b
a-b=0
therefore 0=0, not 2=1
