My cat goes crazy for tuna when I bring some home. I got to thinking why cats like tuna when they can't catch one on their own. Is this something of an evolutionary trait? That took me to the next step in mind travels and that is why cat food isn't rat or mouse flavored?

who says it isn't rat or mouse flavored but are you more likely to buy your cat 'tuna' cat food or 'rat' cat food?

i prefer the us way of spelling it.... less work for my sensitive fingers 🙂

plus i have a us spell checker installed 😵

edit: tbh i really don't even think about it when i write it now, sometimes i might add the u but usually not.

USA! USA! USA!

edit 2: have started spelling 'maths' math.... pretty sure that's an american thing as well.

Have you ever seen a cat actually eat a mouse or a rat? I have not. They "play" with it until it's dead and then hide the mangled corpse somewhere in your house, usually under your bed. Cats are retarded.

my cat has only ever caught one mouse (that i know of) and did pretty much what you say, chewed on it a bit but didn't eat it. trying to get it off him however was like persuading a priest not to so to an 8 year olds birthday party. birds on the other hand he catches every couple of months or so (i'm pretty sure he just finds them laying dead somewhere) but he does eat the bird.. or at least the birds feathers.

cats will eat what they hunt if they are taught to do so by their momma...
many domestic cats are not taught this skill so they only know that there iz significance to the prey, but not what to do with it when apprehended...

fer a really interesting experience, visit a farm with cats sometime...
those animals will know exactly what the prey are for...

Sorry to disappoint, Poet Rookie, but the conversation you dropped in on

has nothing whatsoever to do with cats. You're drowning in a metaphor.
