A man who has a hat received the attentions of a woman I am fond of, she cited his hat wearing as important (as does he, the smug git) in his overall attractiveness. I have taken a stand for hair, against the oppression of the Trilby in all its suave, sophisticated grandeur.

I'm with Starrman on this. Can't abide hats. Baseball caps in particular. Except on baseball players, possibly.

Well, the Trilby has been done to death by Pete Doherty and his mass of clones. So you have a point there in that the Trilby has become a magnet for celebrity wannabes. Its suave, sophisticated grandeur will outlive this fad but, for now, discretion is advised.

BUT, to generalize on the whole spectrum of hats based on this single case is just discrimination and mindless hatophobia.
