WW2 - Operation Market Garden (1944)
Combat footage. German Newsreel. Allied military operation in WWII (Sep-1944). The operation was initially successful with the capture of the Waal bridge at Nijmegen on 20 September, but was a failure overall as the final Rhine bridge at Arnhem was never taken, and the British 1st Airborne Division was destroyed in the ensuing combat.

Frank, did you mean Kelly's Heroes? I am not familiar with Kelly's Gold.
Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas (sp?)Don Rickles, Donald Sutherland, just a terrific cast.
I think Huck would like this one too.
Thanks for the heads up Shorty.

Historically accurate, steller cast (Laurence Ollivier as a bit part, you gotta love it), and it hasn't aged with time......i wonder if Donald Sutherland's psychadelic Panzer tank (Hippies in the 1940's ???) was concieved on an acid binge in Hollywood 😛

If you want a good americanised war film....Escape to Victory. Sylvester Stalone plays a Goalkeeper - football (soccer to yous) war film...classic.
D Day, and Gallipoli, are more my style.
