I'm in The Dalles, Frank.
Winter has been crummy here. 1 day of snow overnight then all melts the next day in unusually warm weather.
As a kid growing up in the gorge we always had around 2 feet of snow total accumulation, every winter.
Now days you're lucky to get that much accumulation in a decades time.
Never really snows here anymore in my book!

The record cold for the area I am in when I was there is 3 degrees. The wind chill has been about negative 15. At this time it is 55 degrees and raining.
It's 20F here (6.6C), very unusual for us. It's rarely that cold. What's happening where you are?

Here in eastern Washington we are seeing temperatures between 0 and -10 on the American scale
-20 to -25 Celsius
My pond is nearly frozen.

I group all the "nature crap" together. Besides, the original question was, "What's happening where you are?".
Here in the lovely city of trees, Boise, Idaho: Temperature is 18 F, altimeter 30.19 winds 300 at 11 K.
A whopping 42 inches of snow on the mountain, wind chill at the summit is -30 F (ugh)! 😞

Hi Frank. In northern Wyoming right now it's -11. Plus it's windy out there so you know what that means. Wanna trade places?? 🙂
Yep, I know exactly where you are. I've been through a winter or two there myself. Summers are the opposite extreme.
Hang in there buddy, good to hear from you.

My wife was raised in TD. We go there fairly often. I like it there. Although you do get some nasty weather there for sure!
Drop a line if you care to.
Originally posted by rbmorrisWe had a fairly strong earthquake here a few years ago. It was weird! It hit right as I was standing up from my desk. It made my knees feel like rubber, I though I was fainting. Just the oddest thing. The light and power poles outside of the hangar were swinging like crazy. That's the only earthquake I remember experiencing. There were a couple of others but I slept through them.
We had a 3.7 earthquake at 3:30AM last night. The house felt like it was on wheels. How's that?
