My Dear, rbmorris, p7ease take note that you are gently railing against nothing more or less than

the verbatim welcoming invitation from Russ & Chris at the entrance to the RHP Public Forums.

😉
When they say "The forums are the core of the 'The Immortal Game' community," is the "the" superfluous? If so, which one?

When you are only 90 yards from the green, don't accidently use your 4 iron instead of your pitching wedge. 😞

Same thing with your toilet. Especially in the morning. And never a wood.

I think the worst general ever was George Patton. The best was probably Alexander the Great or Robert E. Lee.

If you enjoy standing on your head, then you can use the wood next to the toilet.

Could you please provide us with some criteria what makes a good general?

Probably the worst General is not as well known as Patton.

What about Lucius Aemillius Paullus and Gaious Terenntius Varo who lost the battle at Cannae due to stratetgic and tactical misplanning?
What about Genberal Earl of Cardigan who ordered the charge of the light brigade?

These would meet the criterion loss of thousands of lives due to issuing senseless commands.

I don't know if Patton gave one of these. His major weak action seem to have been slapping a soldier wo was hospitalised.

That is why I vote Patton among the worst people in history--let alone generals; the slapped soldier incident. It's not much of a criteria for judging generalship, but 'it's my criteria, and I'll criteria if I want to, criteria if I want to...'
