I often dream of the civilization that exists when the resources of Earth are depleted. I wish I could be the one to leave and mine the astroids. Hell... I could email RC to have him calculate my next burn to astroid 1977.5566. I'm sure he would do it. He might even do it from his own ship. With his own family. He might even have a real family as described by Heinlein. Who knows? But wouldn't it be fun! Just the most excellent adventure. A chance of death by stupidity. A chance of success by hard work. A chance of defeat by bad luck. Everything it takes to be human. Wouldn't it be great?! I want to go so bad it hurts.
Phlabby... You are hereby invited to teach the 'first generation' of rock hounds. Those who live in the rocks and ice of the astroids. You will have 1 student the first year. Then Two and then 5 then... who knows?... interested? It pays nothing. Pay your own way and have fun.
