I was at a store that has a movie aisle. I bought Season One of the Dick Van Dyke Show on a set of DVDs. I am starting to watch them today.
Some thoughts-
1) The characters addressed a visiting actress as "Miss Blake." That reminds me that one rarely hears the honorific "Miss" used these days... Miss Hilton? I don't think so. 😕
2) The Petrie's son Ritchie was played by a child actor who seemed so pleased to be on a TV sitcom that he had a permanent grin on his face. It didn't matter that the line he was delivering was, "Ah, do I hafta take out the trash?"
3) The dynamic involving Buddy and his boss Mel Cooley was ready-made for some vituperative one-liners.
4) Separate beds in the master bedroom seem such a waste. Mary Tyler Moore (as Laura Petrie) was some kind of hot stuff back in those days.
Maybe more later, after I have viewed more episodes.
I now return you to your regularly-scheduled program.

Nothin' else to do but watch the cactus grow.
Laura says in one episode she weighs 112 pounds. Her waist must have been about 20 inches. Cute nose too. 😛
EDIT ADDED: Bring back girdles.
