If my wife had her way I'd be siding the house with vinyl, but I chose cedar. The outside of the house is mine. Vicki gets the inside. If I had my way the counter tops would be laminate, but if she wants granite or quartz that's what she gets! 😉

At the risk of derailing a forum thread, could someone please explain what siding is and why/how you would do it?

There are different types of siding you can get. It depends on what you want to spend. Joseph chose cedar for his siding.

Thank you for that. I remember something like that, but I think it was called cladding. It was marketed as a way to avoid exterior painting.

It's the regional language thing again. Took me a long while to figure out what drywall was.
