I know we have many students here. In the US if you do really well and make very high grades you get something like magna cum laude or summa cum laude on your diploma. Is that the custom in Europe?

Not to my knowledge in relation to education in Engand and Wales. They do things a little differently up in Scotland 😉 so can't comment there. There are certain "prizes"/"awards" for outstanding final dissertations and things, but I'm not sure they're equivalant to that which you refer.

Why not? The proper spelling when used in a sexual reference is come anyway. It's a double entendre.
