1) To help myself to a chocolate bar in the afternoon when I'm having a cup of tea, and not to leave any money.

2) To help myself to 1 Euro when I'm short of bus fare.
3) To help yourself to a Euro and substitute a "chocolate" of your own devising.

4) That you can't help yourself.

Isn't it your civic duty as a citizen of the United Kingdom?

At work some bright spark left an 'honesty basket' in the canteen. The basket has a cup and about 20 chocolate bars. You take a chocolate bar and leave 1 Euro in the cup which goes to a children's charity.

All very good, until I come along:

1) why stop at one chocolate, take the whole box.

2) take more than 1 euro and catch a taxi home instead.

3) if you do have a conscience about ripping a charity off you could always put in an iou in the name of some other person at your work.

The chocolates and the cup are not set up for some charity. There are surveillance cameras watching the chocolates and monitoring who takes, who gives, who steals, etc. That footage is being strreamed to some PTB who will, at some point, call upon you to get your #$% together forthwith.

Or your behaviour will be included in the thesis of some poor sociology student who is watching the chocolates from a nearby duckblind. Bet you were wondering why there was a duckblind in the canteen, huh?

1. Take the whole lot.
2. Secrete basket and contents on your person, find a fat chum and give him one of the chocolates.
3. You may wish to heat the chocolate a little in the palm of your hand, this allows the fat chum to make a bit of a mess around his chops.
4. Remove the remaining chocky and loot.
5. Place the emptied basket near the fat chum, then start spreading the rumours.
6. When fatty gets sacked, apply for fatty’s job.

Not that I have thought much about that basket in the canteen.
