Cool.
Is Richard Branson not planning on putting malls and jacuzzis in a few of them?

The giant Airbus A380 made its maiden flight today from Toulouse, France.
A new era for long haul travel.
Speed-wise, there will be no major improvement, and its range will not allow a single leg e.g. London -> Sydney.
I sometimes wonder why, in the technologically mature environment we live in, we can't build passenger aircraft that deliver cost-neutral improvements in either seat size, speed or range (or all three?)...
Or is it because the single driver is to minimise the cost of air travel to the end user? Perhaps a dismal scientist can enlighten me?
