In 20-20 cricket each side has 20 overs to bat and bowl. There is only one fielding restriction in the game and at the end of each over only the batsmen and the umpires must swap ends whilst the fielders stay at their positions. Bowlers are permitted to only bowl four overs each and the delivery following a no-ball is also a free hit. No more than 5 fielders are allowed to go on the leg side. After a batsmen gets out the following batsmen has 90 second to get to the crease, otherwise he will be timed-out. In the event of a tie in the final or the semi-final, a bowl-out will come into place. Five bowlers from each side will have two deliveries each. The team that hits the wicket the most amount of time wins.
Apart from the "bowl-out" rule this is very similar to one day district/sub-district league matches.

No mention of the rotating batsmen rule and I've never heard of it before, are you atlking about American Leagues? They may operate different rules regarding this.
Originally posted by CrowleyUnfortunately this is indeed true 🙁 They started a 20/20 league last year. At the moment it seems like an elephants graveyard for the West Indian players of yesteryear, but at least it offers some form of sport with decent gameplay in it for a change. Unfortunately, yes, you've guessed it, they pause the innings for adverts... 🙁
Americans playing cricket?!?

Are there are cheerleaders!?
Sir Don will turn in his grave...
I have always feared the day that the yanks started concentrating on playing proper sports like rugby and cricket.
They could really dominate...
Besides, look at their entrance into international football, need I say more....

Hehe, and they'll try to get both batsmen's wickets on every ball!
The USA rugby team is not looking too bad though. You can see they are coached well enough. They just lack some imagination which comes easily to other players who come from rugby playing nations.
A 50m boundary to ensure lots of 4s and 6s.
10m pitch to make running easier = more runs.
Spit 20 overs into 5 for ad breaks.
Hot dog stands and watered down beer and cheerleaders.
The Yanks will love it.
(I may also love the cheerleaders...).

Now, take your post and substitute cricket for baseball / football / basketball and you've got my opinion exactly.
