Can someone explain to me how to upload a picture to the Internet?
I want to add a photo to my profile, but I'm too damn computer-
illiterate!

Although I don't really want to do it for everyone - you could send me
a photo and I will upload if on your behalf.

Russ, I have a picture in the URL
http://be.msnusers.com/u2m7vtnd23qp8i6eoumh0ih5t2/files/Afbeeldi
ngen%2Fjulia%20004.jpg, but it's much too large. Do you know how
to make it smaller?
Thanks
Julia

Photoshop will do that for you if you have a copy, otherwise you could
import it to something like powerpoint and resize it in there

Try Easy Thumbnails, freeware, easy and does the only thing it's supposed to do very well.

This post was a reaction on lioness' question about which software to use. Seems to be shown in the wrong tree now.

Hi Harri, I seem to recall that you gave us a link to your picture in your
profile before right? OK, well that link is called a URL, and the way to
put your picture in your profile is to simply add that link to the
appropriate box in your settings...

good luck,

Joe

Hi Luck!

... and everybody who has problems with uploading their pictures:

Get a free webspace:
http://free.hostdepartment.com/

create your free website e.g.
http://free.hostdepartment.com/gotti2000

You can edit and upload your picture through their file manager, found
at:
http://free.hostdepartment.com/cgi-bin/homefree.cgi?
mid=27590&action=view

Use the URL pointing to your uploaded picture in your RHP profile,
e.g.:
http://free.hostdepartment.com/gotti2000/ApresSki_GottiandJudith.JPG

Hey, will you let me win for this hint next time ;-)

If I were to link to a web page that had a bunch of pictures on there,
like, for example, our lab web page, would you be able to pull out just
my picture?

Yes. Right click your mouse on the picture, and it will show the
pictures properties - including an URL. Copy that and paste it into the
URL on 'your settings', and away you go.
