well-how would you prove that your 18? with a credit card? well-you can imagine all those kiddies pretending to their parents to subscribe them, but in actual fact they're subscribing AND proving they're 18, or something along th ose lines...
twould be hard to organise etc. so, bascially, not such a good idea. the simple option is just for the mods to mod them 😛
Very hard to implement indeed. And besides,I doubt an adult forum would be free of childish behaviour.
Prolly not a 'you stole it,no you did' but similar and with more harsh and insulting language.Overtime for the mods LOL
Not a bad idea though, but what would you discuss that kids aren't allowed to read?
Sir Lot.
Originally posted by SirLoseALotWell, first off all I wouldn't moderate adult threads at all... The only reason (I personally) see in moderation at RHP is to keep the children safe from 4 letter words and other explicit language, but if (theoratically) and adult thread would only be there for adults, why moderate ?

And it's not so much WHAT adults would debate, but more the way of how and on top of that, it would be free from childish posts (apart from when Rob posts ;-)

I'd propose (if possible from a programmer point of view) adult threads (only accessible by people aged 18 or over) at RHP (and no, [b]not for porn - before you start asking ;-)
Any thoughts, comments on that ?

Well, when mulling over the theoratical chances of such being implemented I realise that from a programming point of view it is probably not easy and on top of that, I take the point of verification ...

There are a lot of younger people that frequent the forums that are a part of our community. Such as D43mon, Royal is 17 isn't he?, and T1000? What about LivingLegend? They shouldn't be punished because of a choice few others. Oh, and I think Remora is a part of the community, is she not?

rhp is not an adult community - it is a chess site where people of all ages and both genders come together to play chess and to engage in discussion.
i doubt if anyone's local chess club has an adult section - rather, both genders and individuals of all age groups simply behave themselves.
it is not too much to ask everyone to behave in a civilized fashion here - people do so all the time.
those that are somehow incapable of doing so for the present can always be put through some sort of behaviour modification till that capacity awakens within them.
in friendship,

The forums are here in RHP to help sponsor the community, not divide it.
A forum open to only a specific section of our community would be contrary
to that idea and thus contrary to the purpose of the forums themselves
