Who else is suffering or has sufferd from braces?
I've just had my back moulers put in those metal caps.
Will it hurt this bad for the next 6 weeks?
*makes some nice homemade chicken soup for Brother Edwin and gives him two tyelenol. 😀

NB Not to discourage--you scarcely know they're there after a while.
I had braces for several years, and retainer thereafter, until I slacked off on wearing the retainer so long that it no longer fit. My teeth haven't reverted to their original, jagged arrangement, but they are not quite perfectly straight. Nearly, but not perfectly.
Anyway, I recall well the first meal I had the day I got my braces. Most unpleastant, and you have my sympathy. You will adjust, and you hardly will know they are there (as has already been said). The exception will be when the orthodontist occasionally tightens them, which will make your teeth ache for a day or so. But even that won't be as bad as this initial discomfort you're experiencing.
Hang in there. As bad as it was, I really do appreciate straight teeth.
