Woohoo, I just got back from the concert! My ears are ringing, but what the heck 😀
Even though I'm no big fan of Alice Cooper, I gotta say he impressed me a lot. Deep Purple was also great, but they played a load of songs I didn't know 😉
Anyway, in case anybody wants more details, ask me-I'm too tired now, so I'll go to bed and hope the ringing in my ears goes away 😉
I was 9 years old when Deep Purple played at the Independance Stampede here in town.DP hadn't yet made the Machine Head album ,which really made them popular. We lived about a half mile from the concert site,so I heard them , I liked the hard rock style, and bought Made in Rock ,and I was hooked.
Eric Burdon. (from The Animals) ,Last Nickle, and Pink Floyd were also there.
PF hadn't been heard of just like DP hadn't yet made it.Otherwise these bands would have NEVER played in this town.(The Animals had lost their popularity and or broken up so Eric wasnt a big timer then).

Ian Gillan has an incredible voice and that song happens to be my absolute favourite too. 😀
