@fmf saidno
Do you mean the list of people who can challenge you to a chess game here at RHP even if they do not accord with your current limits on challenges?
I was making fun of the two clan leaders who vetted using the silly criteria of history and individual match ups
I still don't know what that means
@fmf saidIn fact I think this to be quite an interesting question
What can the closeness of friends be measured by?
How much they know about you and how much you know about them? The degree of trust? How much you overlap with each other in terms of values or perspectives? Or how much you differ and yet complement each other?
(3 TD are undeserved)
Shared values and a great deal of trust are certainly part of being close friends.
Complementing is another thing, but very difficult.
Edited for clarity the paranthesis remark is not directed at FMF.
@ponderable saidWhat an odd thing to say. Why do you think it matters to me whether or not you think the anonymous thumbs are "undeserved"?

@ponderable saidAnd yet, a close friendship can make one tolerant of clashing values and even immune to breaches of trust. I wonder whether some personal bonds have a chicken-or-the-egg question at their very core.
