Soooooooooo, if I was to upgrade to an AMD Athlon 64 bit Processor, would I notice any change in my PC's operating speed, or would I just notice any difference if I were to use 64 bit software as well.
And has anyone any hints and tips on upgrading to 64 bit?
Thanks in anticipation
Jim.

Okay okay. What I'm trying to say is am I better off going down the line of upgrading, am I better off sticlking with 32 bit or going for 64 bit?

Originally posted by jimslyp69no, you wont notice any difference unless you use 64bit software as well, the reason for this is simple, 32bit software was never written to use the architecture of a 64bit processor; if you want to upgrade to 64bit personally i would wait a while, vista ships in 32bit versions (64bit as well though) and most games are still written using 32bit code; eventuall it will come, but like everything with computers it takes a while; if you really wanted to, you would have to upgrade your motherboard as well, if you did you could still run 32bit software though; personally, if you're concerned about speed, i'd just put some more ram in and wait a few years
