Our culture is sick, it's not just America, it's capitalist society in general.

It's a tough row modern capitalists are in today.
They've got the trap setup pretty tight:
From birth you are programmed on how to be a "good member of society".
Educate yourself (on a trade, not the Arts).
Get a Job.
Start a family.
Watch TV.
Drink beer and maybe some really easy to get drugs.
Whatever you do though.
Don't.
Stop.
And.
Think.
More and more research on our social programming is being done. More and more the industries are catching on and either trying to burry it (by buying it), edit it, or discredit it.
Seriously, if you're an average-joe/jane, how much time per day you allow yourself to just sit in a quiet room and think, without TV/Radio/Internet interference?
It's just like 1984, except Orwell thought the Government would have to be heavy handed about restricting freedom of thought. It apparently never occurred to him that we were more than happy to stop thinking.

I left school 12 years ago and only now, after reading and learning of my own accord for over a decade am i starting to get some inclination of this deception. It hasn't done me any good at all though, if anything it's made my life infinitely worse! Not only am i robbed by the powers that be, i know it's happening. It's a life sentence without parole and it stinks to high heaven! Since the abolition of the Gold standard, our money no longer holds any concrete value (as paper is hardly a scarce resource) so even if the population wised up and started trying to change things these mofo's can quite easily bankrupt us all by simply devaluing the currency. Make someone poor enough, they'll soon drop any political ideals in favour of feeding and housing themselves and their children. Puts a totally new light on things don't it! π
