There is enough taunting and name calling going on between Americans and Europeans in this forum and everywhere else.
That's why I want to know what Americans like a about Europe and what Europeans like about America.
I'll start off: I like the fact that Americans are very hospitable and welcoming people.

Originally posted by knightwestI like the Alps in Bavaria and Austria. I like river cruises on the Rhine river. Volksmarches in the fall. The beaches of Italy, Yugoslavia, and Spain. The single malt whiskeys in the pubs of Scotland, the Belgian beers, and the fjords of Norway and Sweden. Not to forget the whorehouses in Amsterdam.

North America has some of the most fantastically diverse georgraphy I have come across. For pure sights to see America can compete with anywhere in the world. I spent four months travelling around the US in 1994 and have visited on vacations many times since. I have had a few bad experiences, but on the whole I have found the people to be very welcoming.
In terms of "the best", I had a great time in Chicargo - a city scape you can not fail to be impressed with, loved New Orleans, and spent a great month in the northern mid west driving from small town to small town.
The fact remains however, that internationally your current President does a very poor job of selling the US to the rest of the world. I seem to remember Europe being quite positive about America during the Clinton years.
