Is that what you think Americans are? Where are those Americans? Ja. I remember some that seemed like that in a Southern Baptist and Missionary Baptist Church.
Can't wade through 7 pages...
The American Frontier was the obvious forerunner to the predominate American point of view that the world is our shopping mall. As a gross generalization, if we see it, we want it, and we take it. It doesn't matter if it belongs to someone else, is too expensive, or we don't need it. We see vast quantities of land -- the American Frontier, and we take it. Just a minor detail that entire civilizations are already living there. We just happen to want what's in your pesky little rain forest, so we'll take it. Got slimy stuff under the ground in your country? We'll come take that too.

No. I contemplated "Positive", but I found that too generalistic an attitude to give them.
But I do recognise a certain positivity (resulting from naievity and simplicity) in their general behaviour.
Hence that I chose to use positivity.
If you're talking about another word, then yes, it was a mistake.
Originally posted by PhlabibitIf USA were as neutral as Switzerland, don't you think there will be less wars around the world? Swiss citizen were known to be amongst the best fighters in the Middle Age, selling themselves as knights for the differents kings of Europe. Why do you think the Pope got a Swiss Guard, and not a GI's guard? If we decided to keep ourselves quiet, it's only because we didn't want to put more anger and agressivity in this world, and nobody wants to push us outside of the map! Just think a little further, and don't write we are not able to make up our mind. It's not all grey here, come and see. I've visited the East Coast of the USA, beautiful landscapes; have you ever left once USA? And another point: everybody is happy to have a peacefull country in Europe, creator of the Red Cross (Henri Dunant), where there is enough neutrality to hide money and other bad secrets, hmm? We are "Neinsager", but we do not interfer in other countries' problems. Just follow the idea of a US President, in the early USA, who said something like "USA should not care about France's issues, and France does the same for USA's ones." Go back in your history, and in the old Europe's history, read books and open your eyes: Switzerland got a 700 years old real democraty... No comparison with the teenager-country in which you're living...
People from Switzerland have no sack, and can't make up their mind. Plus the ground is all gray, since they are neutral on every issue.

(Sorry to be so furious, but I can't stand being told I'm grey so early in the morning!)

American woman are very lazy, they make you do all the work then they just order a delivery pizza so they don't have to cook or wash the dishes. It's like a my friend Mario told me once when we were having cappuccino, you bang one American, you bang them all.
Ciao

You mean the slaughtering of Indians and slave labour?
Those first 200 years?
Positivity abound, I'd say...

Sadly, IN GENERAL the World'S opinion of Americans is not very good at all! Although, this is because of there political ways and so is unjust to the everyday citizen. (Here can I however cast my doubt on letting the "Bush Monsoon" have a second term... 😳😕😠) Americans are so different from East to West and from North to South that this categorization ...[text shortened]... different question, now isn't it!😉 Let the Saying goes, God bless America, Mike2119.

The famous American work ethic of slaving your guts out 50 weeks a year (2 weeks vacation), generally more than 40 hours a week...to make someone else richer...
Yes. I wonder why we left that ethic behind...
And I did enjoy your silence on the native American issue... 😉
