I'm going to India. So that's what my blog will be about.

I'd like to go to the US, but I reckon I'd be shipped off to Gautanamo in a flash. I don't tend to keep my politics to myself.

yes I'm aware that it is very stereotyped... in fact, upon reading my essay, I felt the need to put in a disclaimer stating that the opinions expressed are not neccessarily my own opinions, but rather the general view on americans expressed by people I interviewed.
But as my English teacher seems to be very british anf not so fond of americans... I decided this would be perfect for my english class.
Don't get me wrong though, I like America... I have never met such helpful people as I did when living in Boston for 2 years. About 50% of my friends here are american... I plan on also refuting some of the stereotypical opinions about Americans.
Just so you know I'm not Anti-American in any way, even though I completely disagree with your politics. But then again, I also hate German politics. I guess I'll move to switzerland, they're always neutral 😛
(gah sorry, I couldn't resist that...)

I once got into a debate with a Bush lover at a bar. He was getting pretty mad, and I was just going on and having a good time.

This guy was getting upset, and a friend of his flashed me the face like, 'Dude, you are probably right... but if you like your face in one piece you might want to talk about something else.'

The US is full of different sorts of folks, unfortunately the ones that will stick out in your mind are probably the most negative. I'm sure this is true with any country.

I've never heard of such a thing...

As for your other post... 48% of Americans don't like what our government is doing. Perhaps more, as many of us think the last 2 elections were fixed.

I know it exists (or at least existed) and was VERY wide-spread during pioneer times. We talked about it in history, but I can't remember what it was called... and I'm apparently too stupid to search the internet effectively 🙁

PS: Phlabby, I qualified for that bowling tournament again 😀 I'm bowling scratch though, so I'm kinda screwed 😕

Even I wouldn't survive scratch play with my mid 190's average... Good to make it, and you never know if you might get SUPER LUCKY!

Good luck!

As for your English teacher who doesn't care for Americans... perhaps you can work in how most all Americans don't like Germans since they all are rather like Hitler or something. Ha!

haha no I don't think I'll point that out... I'm planning to end the part on the American character though by stating that most american characteristics viewed negatively by outsiders are evolutions of the effects on the frontier. I'm gonna say that it's a different culture and balblabla and basically "stfu if you've never lived there and don't know what you're talking about". I'm just writing the buildup right now 😀

As for the tourney... remember it's YABA (Young American Bowling Alliance, meaning nobody over 21) and girls... last year, the girl who won the scratch division had a tournament average of 179. I'll be happy if I make the top 5. I'm gonna buy a new ball (perhaps tonight 😀) because mine is too light (it's 11, I'm gonna get a 13 now). I figure after I get used to it I should be able to keep my average at around 150, so top 5 should be doable 😀
Thanks though. btw, in case you wanna look, here's my bowling league: http://www.leaguesecretary.com/Includes/Reports/LeagueFiles.asp?SiteID=1&LeagueID=10578
I suck though, I managed to drop my average under 140 for the first time this year after I bowled last time 🙁

I think I might have told you the story of the Asian girl in my league that held the ball straight armed at 45 degrees in front of her, and 'swang' it way back and fired it. She was about 5'2" and used a 15.5 ball. I had been pointing her out to a friend who said she must have a 12 pound ball, so I went over and asked her. That is when I found out it was almost as heavy as mine. We also did a lot more talking, and she was pretty cool girl. She moved, and I miss her... she was funny as heck, and I believe she was also a 190ish bowler... very good!

Heavy is better, as long as you are also comfortable... Good luck with it!

I'll check that web out in a bit... L8R!

You removed my 'squiblas' that showed it was not a real word!

Ring, rang, swing, swang.

Hide, hid, glide, glid.
