But in areas like stem cells research and cloning America isn't and will not be at the front of research. And we are horrible with disease cures since treatments are more profitable. You get more money if you can make a drug to treat the symptoms of something and keep people paying through the nose all their lives than if you can find a cure for it, so the private sector does much less work towards cures, that needs political money.
