That helping one girl is going to ease the collective consciences of killers?

Or are you trying to tell us that the US government should be paying for this girl's treatment? That US personel shouldn't feel forced into spending their hard earned cash as a bloody charity?
He is sharing a feel good story. Simple as that. Are you trying to slant it to your hate mongering ways? Do you feel that the US military is a collective of conscienceless of killers? Every one of them?

It's not just a feel good story. That's not even the spirit he's posting it in.
It's one of those stories that are used as propaganda: "Oh... see how good we are..."

Do you think a soldier is anything but a hired killer?
Do you think it's right that soldiers are having to pay (out of their own bloody wages) for this sort of treatment?

That's what I'm suggesting. It's not just a story.

Sadam was put in power by the US. Take all the killings he ordered, add all the deaths from both Iraq wars and add them together. It's approaching 2 million people, all dead because America wants to drive big cars with non-existent fuel economy! Wake up fella!!

No I think they are also National defenders.

They don't have to do anything but follow orders. And in reality they don't "have" to do that. They can refuse orders and face the consequences for that.
I was military many years ago.I can attest that those acts of kindness are the things that we did to keep the human side alive. I never did anything as noble as getting a little girls eyes fixed, but buying footballs for kid and setting up goals made me feel good. Would you like to keep people in boxes? Are you suggesting that military personnel are not humans and don't like to make others happy? What do you think of the gaurdsmen that come home and kiss their wives and babies after a long deployment? If your country was occupied how would you like the occupying force to act?

edit for boldness😉

If my country was occupied (and I disagreed with the occupation) I would be blowing them up.

I think, however, that you've answered your own question by saying what I've quoted.
Any job which means you have to pay for what "the State" should be paying for is obviously a job with dubious sides to it. Or not?

Perhaps it's an inadvertent admission on the part of the poster.

Here's an on-topic article that contains its fair share of feel-good stories, although you have to look pretty hard: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/13/us/13vets.html?_r=1&hp=&adxnnl=1&adxnnlx=1200326791-lQC6RKBB/c6tr5AFwoLobg&oref=slogin

Funny... I thought the Iraqi News Network was setup and funded by the U.S. Government as a check on the Fox News channel should that unofficial propaganda arm ever get out of line and start reporting real news. 😉

On edit: I think I have whatever the "INN" is mixed up with the "news" channel setup by the Pentagon a few years ago to broadcast in Iraq.

2nd edit: no offence was intended to anyone mistaking Fox News for serious journalism (I prefer it as entertainment... its kinds of to journalism what professional wrestling is to sports).

Hell no! I knew that little girl was lying her as off and the whole film was faked. I'm talking about the girl whose family was killed. What a bunch of crap!

You'd be a fool and communist to think anything like that.
Now go and hide before the CIA digs you up.
