Where is the taxi going to appear from? Your car is broken down and you have no means of communication with the outside world. You could try lighting up smoke signals.

Hi Enrico.

Where do you think I go to play chess, in the middle of a desert.🙂

In 30 years of travelling to league and competitions, once, just once
we had a punture. It was fixed by us and we were on our way.
Often we travelled across town by taxi. If that broke down (it never did)
then the driver would use his radio and send another car.

30 years without a squid phone - can you do without yours for 30 days?

Lol you might as well be living in the desert in Arizona. I can't think of any valid reason why someone wouldn't have one unless one is a Luddite but then you are playing chess on the internet presumably using a computer.

If you want to live like you are living 30 years ago then get rid of your TV, computer, broadband and phone as well. See how you would live without them for 30 days. You are not allowed to give up only one evil modern appliance, you must give up all of them. 😀

A mobile phone is a necessity these days and they cost anywhere from the cost of a hamburger to the cost of getting 20 people a subscription to RHP.

Don't forget that the persistent use of microwaves so close to your brain can cause your RHP rating to drop by 1 point.

This stuff (that greenpawn likes) causes you to lose 10 points, so mobile phones are a lesser evil.

Hi Enrico.

30 years ago we had television. 3 channels of good quality TV.
Not the total utter crap you lot put up with today.
Make over programs, find an talented star programs and cookery crap.

What makes everyone today think they are so important that they have
to stay in touch with everyone on a mobile. What do you talk about
when you meet each other face to facer?
(sorry I forgot, when you meet someone in the flesh you ignore them
and send off texts to people who are not there.)

When was the last time you sat down and wrote someone a letter?
When was the last time you actually received a hand written letter?
It's an art form. I love letter writing. I love getting a hand written reply.

999 calls out of 1,000 are total inane and unnecessary.
Switch the bloody thing off and leave people in peace.

PS: was given a mobile Christmas 2010 - still in the box somewhere.
Was given a kindle thing last Christmas - gave it away.
