I want to know, If Bob Geldoff and Boner..uh I mean Bobo...damn, Bono really cared aboot starving kids in africa then why don't they Give up their megastar lifestyles and give their money away? Instead they emerge from their mansions get up on their high horses and prance around like gods. I'm wondering how many Christian Children photos Bono has on his fridge. So a message to Bob Gandalf and Bozo....Go F**K YOURSELVES

Live Aid raised 8 billion first time round. I can't be sure but I'm pretty sure neither of the two mentioned people has that much money.

Part of what these large events do isn't measured in money but in exposure. People are suddenly aware of a crisis they could do something about.
Anyway how do you know that the wealthy aren't giving large amounts of money to charity?

Money isn't the solution to this problem. Espesially my money when I'm living paycheck to paycheck
Bono and Bob have given more time, effort and money than I could ever hope to give. They are not doing anything for themselves.
They should be loudly applauded.

However i'd pay a little more to eradicate african poverty.
We'd all like to choose where our taxes are spent but food and shelter for your fellow man should fairly high.

They currently use 0.26% for that. The US by comparison gives 0.1%.
Good job G8.
Originally posted by XanthosNZIf your not from Canada you would'nt know that our leader(prime minister) was born into a rich family and has no problems wasting our money. the 0.7 goal should have been attainable is not for the fact our gov't wasted 2 billion dollars on a useless gun registry, not to mention the scandel they are currently mired in where fed. money was paid to gov't friendly ad agencies which was then donated to the ruling party.
