ok. last question. i downloaded avg and uninstalled norton. windows security gives me an alert (asks me if I wanna turn on my firewall). Is this normal even though avg tells me I am fully protected? please enlighten, what to do? 😕
So AVG says you are fully protected against viruses.
Your Norton product probably had a firewall module that turned off Windows firewall when it was installed.
For now, enable Windows firewall, but I would suggest you look into getting a third party firewall, like ZoneAlarm (www.zonealarm.com) which also has a free version.

By all means, turn on Windows firewall, but like I said, get yourself a 3rd party software like ZoneAlarm. Windows firewall is not very effective.
