Not common knowledge but I compile cryptic crosswords for a couple of local periodicals as a bit of a hobby and wondered if any of the RHP fraternity would be interested in the concept on a regular basis? If there's enough interest I could supply one every couple of weeks. Some one would have to host it, but its only in MS excel and shouldn't be too much drama to attatch it to email?

Great idea! There's not much I like better than to get really angry at a crossword. As for the hosting bit, I wouldn't know where to start. 😕

Nope I promise I would have put 8,5 had it been but not a bad solution it is definitely :

e(13)

Ok, I had to dust of a few grey cells.

e (13) ..."thessalonians"....(the first epistle)?
and eg. gs ( 9, 4) has to be ..."seperated eggs"?

Our American friends would struggle with that one because don't they say H thru O rather than H to O?

I'll have to give you both the points. I meant to type eg. sg for 'scrabbled eggs but got it wrong (sorry), so separated eggs was as inspired alternative.

you're both obviously much better at this than me. What about the other one? that one made me swear when I worked it out.
