West Brom all the way. Just kidding, I don't really pay attention to EPL, at least no until the American football season is over.

There are no Man U "fans" out there. They are all glory supporters. Which is why the fan club membership is declining (unsubstantiated evidence!)

Besides I come from Leeds so you are asking the wrong person.

Being helpful though, there is actually (can you believe this) a Man Utd Clan on RHP. If you subscribe they might let you join....
They get everywhere don't they? Man U fans I mean. We even have 7 year old kids in Leeds wearing them these days, because they don't know better.

I've been a United fan for the past 20 years. Can somebody point me to the glory that I hunted from that period please?

much appreciated,

Now just because you're a clever glory hunter with a keen eye for potential and an uncanny ability to predict the future doesn't make you any less of a glory hunter.
(Here speaks a bitter Evertonian who is wondering if we will be allowed to play two midfielders to replace Thomas Graverson)

I'm not going to get drawn into this nonsense again !!

I am instead going to get in my car and drive tothe Man City vs Crystal Palce game this afternoon.

Imagine that, someone in Manchester actually going to a game to watch and support their local team, whatever next.

I was hoping United would sign him. £2.1M, for 1 of the top 3 midfield players in the premiershop in the past couple of seasons is nothing. I think Everton will struggle more with his loss than they did with losing Rooney.

You are just SO witty and funny.

I also note that you have been supporting for 20 years but are "not a glory hunter", so the FA Cup win around 20 years ago was pure coincidence then ?

Would you like me to send you a postcard ?

I don't have any issue with United, they are a quality team and I have been to OT more times than the majorty of Utd fans - it does look a little odd however when the more widespread fan base sees the need to go to extraordinary lengths to justify their support, there really is no need.

It is a natural progression, the team has more exposure, both historically and presently, so will get a larger and more widespread following, each then feeds the other.

I am much the same with American Football, I have never been to a game but I follow a team that I first saw in the early eighties when it was high profile.

The answer to the original post question will therefore be a resounding yes, probably hundreds on this site - the only debate worth having is on the definition of the word "fan".

I am off now to witness no doubt another afternoon of unpredictable football related humour with a solid 9 player base and two fat blokes upfront, but hey, some things you are just born into.....

Yes , I think to justify 'supporting' United you'd have to be born at old trafford, where as we can all admire their playing ability, and still detest them.
Glory hunters.
