I applied to the London marathon last year, but it was too over
subscribed, and I didn’t get in. I really need to run one soon before I
get too old (or too lazy). The training would do me the world of
good – so I hope this year is the year.
Even if I do it, I know I will never ever be one up on this guy :

A real hero!

Yes, I read about this guy. I think he's done it before because I think
it was a few months ago when I read about it. I love hearing stories
like that. Like when Gretta Waitz ran w/ Fred lebow (founder of the
Nyc marathon and great running advocate) while he was battling the
cancer that wound up killing him eventually. They finished the
marathon together in about 5 hours. Really amazing.
I ran last year's Nyc marathon which was about 7 weeks after the
attacks on the world trade center and it was one of the most amazing
experiences I've ever had. I hope to do it every year for as long as I
am able. The feeling at the finish is really something. I highly
recommend it to anyone thinking about doing one.
