I quit cigarettes on May 21st 2003 and haven't had one since π It was my 25th or so attempt and was only made possible by the fact that my girlfriend and I both bet each other that we couldn't do it. The first one to give in owed the other £200 great insentive π Well done to you and keep it up! π

I thought this would be much harder than it has been so far...the steady flow of nicotine is a huge help, I couldn't imagine going cold turkey...

Make sure you decrease your nicotine dosage, slowly but surely. I have a friend who quite cigarettes 2 years ago. Unforunately he is now addicted to nicotine patches instead.....

My gf quit again about 7 days ago. We've just entered the 'cranky as a bag of cats' stage. I think I'm going to go out and buy her a crate of Bennie Hedges.

If not, tell her to use the patch, it really reduces the cravings, and helps you focus on beating the psychological addiction...I've been a bit cranky, more sensitive than usual and definitely somewhat distant, but certainly not as vicious as I was when I tried to go cold turkey...
