Good lord. As if one shouty Connie in a cooking contest isn't a surfeit all by himself...

Anyway, I don't think cooking should be competitive under any circumstances. It's a crime against food. But I do like food programs which show you the beauty of real food, made to eat rather than to show off. I rather liked the ones with Levi Roots, but those were a few years ago.

It's fascinating - and amusing - to watch The Office steaming straight ahead (into its 8th season) despite no longer having its "star" Steve Carell. It does highlight the degree to which it was, of course, an ensemble piece all along.

While I do like The Office, I always thought the "stupid Michael" thing was a bit overdone.

The current Masterpiece Mystery series, with Jason Isaacs, on PBS. He was the bad brother (or the worse of two bad brothers) in Brotherhood, another fine series.

Hey PsychoPawn,
I haven't seen you here in a while. Good to hear from you. How are you?
Yes, I like the show too and the quotes at the end of each show.

Shouty Connie?.... couldn't get the meaning of it.

Sometimes the food looks good and tastes good too.

We don't get Levi Roots here.

Connie = Convict = Australian.

Levi Roots was on the BBC. He had a series about Caribean food, showing off not just the stereotype of flaming hot Scotch Bonnets (although there was plenty of that, too), but some different takes, as well. Very nice - it was a kitchen I wasn't really aware of, but I loved it.
He's had an interesting career - from reggea singer to Dragons' Den contestant to telly cook. His recipes are still on Auntie's site:

My own favourite was the coconut, chili and lime salsa, but the lamb was not half bad, either.

I'm not too bad. I don't usually post much, but I read.

I lurk around reading and occasionally poking my head out to say something usually inconsequential 🙂
