I'm in the market for some new music for my playlist.

If you like this one, you like trance. Best music to listen to while playing chess.

Or, if you are a little mature in years and appreciate a toned down style of trance, there is this.

It's sort of like New Age Music over the years, took on hypnotic vocals and a nice beat. Good traveling music and work out music, too.

I was in a trance once in Bankok, but they had given me 125 mics of acid in my coke, was up all night watching the sunrise on top of the Bankok hilton, starting at midnight🙂

Listened to both your sample tracks, could see it useful as workout music but it's not something I'd want to listen to otherwise. Certainly not something I'd think of as trance-inducing, so I guess the name must mean something else.

Ditto. Sorry, Sumydid. bit too much staccato for gramps.

LOL, its not meant to be trance inducing, its simply a genre, like dance, techno, acid house etc etc. and icludes many sub-genres, get hip gwanny and gwamps

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_trance_genres

something more mainstream perhaps?

Sorry, RC, but 'bad boys' still to my eargate. Thought I was at the dentist.

Doesn't this thread belong in the Culture forum?

LOL, my dentist used to play opera, it was surreal, drills whirring and fat ladies singing.

No, actually the name fits -- it is very trance-inducing. But, only for those of us who appreciate electronic music. To me, electronic/digitally produced sound is superior, but I'm in the minority I'm sure.

Hey Robbie... my dream of all dreams... would be to have something like my first track.. being sung by an attractive female up on stage.. doing cool dance moves, hips and all, with back up dancers behind her dancing in unison - during worship services at church.

The words could be changed to suit the message. I just wish I could see that in my lifetime. I'd dedicate my life toward making it happen, if I thought it possible.

Great page on your first link! Vocal Trance is my thing.

Your 2nd link? Mainstream? 🙂 🙂 Way off the beaten path. Good stuff, I used to get into that but when I got my first taste of true Vocal Trance (exactly as your wiki page describes), I was hooked and so hooked that nothing else satisfies anymore.

I do still like alternative rock, though. Just not as much.

Now, THIS is what I would consider mainstream vocal trance... (and it doesn't hurt that she's a beautiful woman) - It's interesting her dancing style, being from the Middle East - probably with a VERY conservative upbringing. What her culture considers a "sexy" dance is child's play compared to US/Hollywood but, I like it better. Less "in your face." She also has a great song called "Kiss You" which is about being in love with a man but not being *allowed* to show him any affection -- probably an apt description of her young adulthood.

Go for the 1080p if you have good enough bandwidth:

I remember one time I took 5 hits of blotter, snorted about a teener of blow and drank beer all night. Well I sorta remember it. 😕
