Seriously. I often find myself bursting into song while analysing a board, without any real reason why, and without having consiously initiated the song. It is often a song I make up or make a parody of. I was wondering if anyone else had this same experience. Maybe the chess playing part of the brain and the singing part are close together.

I like to hear the Bach's Chorales or the Cantatas while playing... 🙂

Oh well, I love Bach's music.

P.S.: Mozart puts me in a bad mood to think... I don;t know why, but it is so...

It's "can't take my eyes of you", by Frankie Valli (and no doubt many others)

I play the guitar (not while im playing, it's another hobby of mine) and i've found my ability to improvise has improved a lot since i started playing chess regularly. I think it has something to do with the mental journey that the two have in common.

Chess has similar aspects of harmony as well. When your pieces are working together, the game can take on a certain rythm, similar to the melody expressed in music. With that in mind, i have to ask, do you find yourself singing when your winning? 😀

Well, I guess I only sing when I'm not losing.

What do you think, Nobel Prize material?

I waqtch telly, eat, drink, talk on the phone, talk to Alex on the pc, do business, talk to my sister, remove cats from the keyboard, remove cat tails and feet from in front of the pc screen, scream at cats after they knock the pc over.........I think that is all
Anyway, you know know why my rating is so low. 😀😛

A group of us use to sing old beach boy songs, of course we would
twist some of the words to insult each other while we played too off
and on. 🙂

I sing sad tales about the American Mid-West, which is odd because I'm from Toronto. I also rap occasionally.

What it is that be all up in y'all bad selves, yo?!?
