mcdonald's - fish sandwich, yum.
avoid the adventurer hotel near the airport, i stayed there once and saw a big ole cockroach.
you should try googling for restaurant reviews, try froogle.com or yahoo ...
maybe you'd like legoland in carlsbad, it's about halfway to san diego, i think ...
try looking at sites for disneyland, knotts berry farm, and universal studios ... have only been to disneyland but hear the others are good ...

There is nothing to visit in Irvine, CA. I work and live approximately 20 miles from there and it's the most sanitized city ever. Boring, beige and mauve colors everywhere. Boring dining, shopping plazas every other block....very Stepford.
The weather is usually pleasant though.
