Anyone have a 91 volvo 940? Fuel pump issue.

Not sure if it's the fuel pump or the fuel pump relay. I am hoping for the relay. Anyone know just where it is on the 940? Might be somewhere near the radio but not sure. Thanks ahead of time. I sure hope it's not the fuel pump, I think it is buried in the fuel tank. That sucks.

And your guess seems to be correct:

the fuel pump relay is under the radio compartment behind the ash tray with the fuses


This is true of the 700/900 series

Indeed. I think with fuel injection higher pressures are needed, higher than any cam driven pump.

Correct, most carb systems run about 10-15 PSI while most injection systems use 40-60 PSI.
